Exploring Seongsu-dong, a Popular Neighborhood in Korea!
Part 2: A Walking Tour of SEONGSU.

After lunch of kalguksu and jeon, I strolled towards DIOR Seongsu.
After crossing the station and turning a corner, I suddenly encountered a crowd of people with their smartphones and cameras at the ready! Curious about what was happening, I stood on my tiptoes to see better and spotted about 100 young men lined up in a row!

After returning home, I looked up this logo and discovered that the day I visited Seongsu was actually the day before the launch of 'Project 7,' a new boy group audition program. The venue had apparently been used for an event featuring the program's trainees. (For those interested in audition or survival shows, this program is available on ABEMA in Japan.)
Looking at their website, I learned that there are Japanese participants too! I couldn't help but wonder if their families were watching over them from afar... I wish all the participants good health as they pursue their dreams!
Now then, Walking a bit further, I came across another small crowd. It was a line of people waiting to enter TAMBURINS' flagship perfume shop. Since I had just enjoyed visiting their store in House Dosan in Apgujeong the day before, I just took a quick photo from outside this time."

I got to see a massive rose installation in full bloom, with intertwining flowers that seemed to evoke the rose fragrance - the main note of their latest EVENING GLOW COLLECTION.
TAMBURINS always features installations that let you experience each collection's unique world through all five senses, which I always look forward to seeing. The EVENING GLOW collection had a soft, sweet rose fragrance as well.

Next to TAMBURINS is the newly opened Seongsu flagship store and café of makeup brand dasique, which just launched this summer.

At the entrance, teddy bears from the "MY BEAR" COLLECTION, which started on October 1st, welcomed visitors.

Girls were cheerfully checking themselves in the mirror while trying out the bear-faced lip & cheek palettes and eyeshadows. I heard you can get limited-edition collection novelties depending on your purchase amount during certain periods, so it's worth checking before visiting!
The store was bustling with international tourists, with various languages being spoken all around.

Across from this is the DIOR pop-up boutique that opened in 2022.

The all-glass facade gleams and sparkles with reflected light, creating a beautiful contrast against the blue sky. This boutique's design evokes DIOR's Maison at 30 Avenue Montaigne in Paris's 8th arrondissement, making it a popular spot for photos.
Here's a photo of DIOR's Maison in Paris (taken by the author in late September 2018). If you look closely, you can see the windows are identical in shape!

With the launch of the 2018-2019 AW Collection, the space was covered with collages of 1960s magazines and posters.
Among them was the famous slogan, 'C'est non, non, non et non!' known for its appearance on a Miss Dior scarf.
After passing through the DIOR section, the scene transformed entirely. Amid select shops, homeware stores, and lifestyle boutiques, I came across 'HARU FILM'—a photo booth studio where you can take four-frame shots, reminiscent of a 4-panel comic strip

In Seoul, I kept spotting 'HARU FILM' signs everywhere I went. I thought I might end up without taking any photos, so I decided to give it a go—for the memories. Alone.
Inside, there were loads of ear headbands, a big mirror, and three photo booths. Luckily, I was the only one there, so no one saw me fumbling around, trying to take solo pics.
But!!!
Without using a translator, I hit a button that I guessed meant ‘4 shots,’ but it actually turned out to mean ‘4 prints.’ In the end, solo photos started pouring out one after another, and I started to panic a bit.
No wonder it cost 14,400 won (about 1,500 yen). Haha!
By the way, they accept credit cards!
It’s even open 24 hours, so you can snap pics anytime, morning or night—whenever the mood strikes!
Open 24h
Address: 302-36, Seongsu-dong 2-ga, Seongdong-gu, Seoul
Next time, I’ll be exploring some intriguing spots around Seongsu!
See you then :)
